Certified Home Health Aide


Learn to provide health care services and personal care to patients in their homes in this training program. Students earn licensing and certification in this field.

This profession has a huge demand as people who become ill, have a disability, and advance in age need help if they want to remain in their homes. A career as a home health aide professional is impactful. You will help improve the patient’s overall quality of life and enable them to live more comfortably.

  • How to use medical equipment and mechanical lifts
  • Basic nutrition
  • Checking vital signs
  • Dressing wounds
  • Maintaining patient care records
  • Helping with physical therapies
  • Personal hygiene standards
  • Collecting routine specimens
  • Assisting with personal activities, domestic and household tasks
  • Transporting and/or accompanying patients
  • Providing companionship and emotional support

Location: 7 Glenwood Avenue, LL, East Orange

60 hours of classroom instruction

16 hours of clinical/lab training

20 hours of Life Skills and Career Services

 

Requirements

  • 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • 8th grade reading level
