ESL Pharm Tech Classes Begin

This Certified Pharmacy Technician program is specially designed for English language learners with an intermediate level of English. It begins with intensive English instruction (ESL) focusing on customer service in the pharmacy setting and pharmacy vocabulary, followed by the Pharmacy Technician training.
Class topics:
- Custmer service language for the ESOL student
- Pharmacy/medical language for the ESOL student
- Pharmacy calculations
- Top 200 drugs
- Inventory control
- Medical terminology
- Interpreting prescriptions
- Drug compounding
- Job readiness and career services
Training details:
- Location: 7 Glenwood Avenue, LL, East Orange
- 9:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday
- ESL instruction
- 125 hours of classroom instruction
- 100 hours of externship
- 20 hours of Life Skills and Career Services
Requirements:
- 18 years of age
- Authorized to work in the US
- Intermediate level English
- High school diploma or GED
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Pass reading, math, and computer skills assessment
