Home Health Aide Classes Begin

Learn to provide health care services and personal care to patients in their homes in this training program. Students earn licensing and certification in this field.
This profession has a huge demand as people who become ill, have a disability, and advance in age need help if they want to remain in their homes. A career as a home health aide professional is impactful. You will help improve the patient’s overall quality of life and enable them to live more comfortably.
- HHA classes are in-person at our East Orange, NJ location, and run from January to March 2025.
- There is no cost to attend, but registration and placement testing is by appointment only.

Class topics include:
- How to use medical equipment and mechanical lifts
- Basic nutrition
- Checking vital signs
- Dressing wounds
- Maintaining patient care records
- Helping with physical therapies
- Personal hygiene standards
- Collecting routine specimens
- Assisting with personal activities, domestic, and household tasks
- Transporting and/or accompanying patients
Training Details:
- Location: 7 Glenwood Avenue, LL, East Orange
- 60 hours of classroom instruction
- 16 hours of clinical/lab training
- 20 hours of Life Skills and Career Services
Requirements:
- 18 years or older and out of school
- Authorized to work in the US
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- 8th grade reading level
