Medical Assistant
This Medical Assistant Training Program prepares students for entry-level careers in healthcare by providing the knowledge and practical skills needed to assist physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and specialty practices. The program combines classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and supervised clinical experience to develop competency in both administrative and clinical responsibilities.
Students learn essential medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, infection control, patient communication, medical ethics, and healthcare laws. Clinical training includes taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, administering medications (where permitted by law), collecting laboratory specimens, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), phlebotomy, wound care, and assisting with minor medical procedures. Administrative training covers appointment scheduling, medical records management, insurance billing and coding, electronic health records (EHR), and office operations.
Upon successful completion, graduates are prepared to seek employment in various healthcare environments and may be eligible to pursue national certification examinations, depending on the program and applicable state requirements.

Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Pass a background check and drug screening
- Have a minimum 8th grade math and reading level
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Ability to stand for long durations during lab training and externship placements
