LinkedIn–considered by many to be the best professional networking site–is now competing as a jobs board, attracting employers and job-seekers alike. Bring your laptop (tablets don’t work as well) AND your smart phone (with the LinkedIn app already installed)–and learn to build a robust profile in real-time. Then, we’ll explore the entire platform to find new ways you can use LinkedIn to YOUR advantage.
Our Featured Guest Speaker will be Maya Ollson, founder and director of Kokopella High Touch Outplacement. Maya offers more than 20 years of outplacement experience and has helped thousands successfully travel the bumpy road of job-seeking. Lovingly dubbed “The Resume Queen” by her clients, Maya know how to conduct an effective search (and especially how to shorten it), turning resumes into interviews–and interviews into job offers. Maya is also the author of The Road to Job Search Success, a book detailing how to conduct a professional-caliber job search. It covers managing your emotions and your family during a search, resume and cover letter-writing, creating a strategy with a special emphasis on shortening your search, networking, interviewing, and salary negotiations. She has a master’s degree in Education in Counseling from Northeastern University and is a sought-after speaker.
