Job-Seekers Workshop: Dollars & Sense–Coping with the Challenges of Unemployment

January 9, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Let’s face it–being unemployed is HARD. It takes a toll on your finances–and on your well-being. This month’s Job-Seekers Workshop features not one, but TWO, subject matter experts who can help you navigate the challenges of what can be a protracted career transition.

Gerard Raho, financial advisor at Edward Jones, will discuss how to manage your finances during your job transition:

  • The various 401(K) options available to you–and the pros and cons of each one
  • How to think of your investments in terms of meeting your budgetary needs
  • Special situations where you can tap into your retirement assets without incurring a penalty

Ellen Robertson, certified integrative health and wellness specialist and assistant general manager of JCC MetroWest’s Sports & Fitness Center, will give you tips on managing your stress during this challenging time:

  • Learn about tools–including gentle movement, breathing, meditation, and other relaxation techniques–to manage stress, improve sleep, increase energy, and build resilience
  • Learn how to integrate these techniques into your daily self-care practices
  • Understand the ways stress can affect your overall health and well-being

Be sure to join us for Networking at 9:00 a.m. The workshop will start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m.
